“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.” –Albert Einstein

It was my teacher, Mrs. Turner, that handed me an award many, many years ago for “Best news reporter” in front of my entire fourth-grade class. When I asked why she gave me it, she told me that I seemed to be aware of everything going around me, constantly asking questions about what was happening, and making sure everyone else knew about it. I’m happy to say that I’m still doing that in my profession as a journalist and writer all these years later.

I have written thousands of news articles, which have been published in newspapers, magazines, and online publications. I also have a marketing and public relations background, with experience writing press releases, newsletters, Web sites, blogs, and social media for businesses and clients.

My work has appeared in the USA Today, Ventura County Star, Central Coast Farm and Ranch Magazine, CLU Magazine, Los Angeles Daily News, Daily Sundial, Malibu Surfside News, the Moorpark Reporter, Malibu Times, Home Care Magazine, National Notary Magazine, AthleticBusiness.com, GingrichProductions.com, BiologicalDiversity.org, Evansville Courier Press, RichardChildressRacing.com, BiosphereIndustries.com, Abilene Reporter News, Designbuildings.com,Thousand Oaks News Chroni cle, Thousand Oaks Star, Community Link, Moorpark Acorn, Shop Moorpark , Simi Valley Acorn,  Conejo Valley Botanic Garden, and more.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with an emphasis in political science from California State University, Northridge. I received additional training and certificates in InDesign, Photoshop CS6, WordPress, magazine writing, online content writing, Search Engine Optimization, and Google Analytics.

Oftentimes I get to combine my love of writing with my interest in gardening. You will not only find me working in a garden, but also writing about it too! I’m a certified Master Gardener (Class of 2020) through the UC Master Gardener program in Ventura County, and I’m the current co-chair for the program’s Communications Committee.
