Civic Center Way improvement project moving forward

A project aimed at enhancing traffic safety and mobility for all modes of travel on Civic Center Way is moving forward.
The project was pending an appeal to the California Coastal Commission. On July 10, the commission denied the appeal, according to City Manager Reva Feldman.
Improvements on the .7-mile stretch of Civic Center Way include pedestrian walkways, bike paths, landscaping and a stormwater connection.
A construction contract for the project will be brought to the City Council on August 10 for approval.
